Muthanga wildlife sanctuary is one of the biggest sanctuaries in Kerala, blessed with an abundance of plant and animal species. While the sanctuary is off-limits for base camp one has to set up camp on its outskirts. The sanctuary is open from 9 am to 10 am in the morning and from 3 pm to 5 pm in the evening.

Thirunelli is famous for its Mahavishnu temple which is located at a very high altitude of 900m and surrounded by the mighty Western Ghats. The place is lit up by the flowing waters of streams originating from Brahmagiri famously known as ‘Papanasini’. While at camp make it a point that you take a dip in the sacred stream for it’s known to wash away all sins!
